Faculty Professional Development

Kern CCD Leadership Academy
The Kern CCD Leadership Academy is an exciting year-long program that develops future leaders through hands-on learning, team projects, and behind-the-scenes insights into how our district operates. Participants connect with leaders across KCCD, explore emerging topics like AI, engage in advocacy in Sacramento, and collaborate on impactful projects that align with the KCCD Strategic Plan. The experience culminates in team presentations to the Chancellor and executive team, celebrating growth, innovation, and leadership potential.
Master Classes
A Master Class is a focused professional development session led by experts that provides participants with advanced knowledge, strategies, and practical skills on a specific topic. These sessions are designed to be interactive, impactful, and immediately applicable to real-world challenges.
Innovative and Immersive Classroom Technologies
Kern CCD is committed to helping faculty explore and integrate emerging technologies that transform teaching and learning. Beginning this Fall, we will provide resources and training opportunities focused on innovative tools such as Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, and other immersive technologies that enhance engagement and expand instructional possibilities. In the Spring, a pilot program will invite interested faculty to experiment with these technologies firsthand, gaining practical experience and developing strategies for incorporating them into their courses. This initiative aims to empower faculty to reimagine classroom experiences, foster deeper student learning, and prepare learners for success in a rapidly evolving world.
