Over the years, your leadership and partnership with the Campaign for College Opportunity has been vital to ensuring greater college opportunity and success for all California students, especially the thousands of Black and Latinx students who walk through the doors of our California Community Colleges each year. Your courageous leadership and support for bold racial equity efforts such as policies to transform transfer and ensure more equitable placement and completion means that more community college students will now be able to pursue a college degree and reach their dreams. Your leadership as Chancellor of Kern Community College District is an inspiration for thousands of students across California. For these reasons, we are honored to recognize you as a 2022 Beacon of Racial Equity and invite you to accept this honor on November 18, during the Community College League of California Conference in San Francisco.
