CREL aims to be a leader in education and workforce training in electric vehicles, operations, and alternative fuels alongside our industry partners. Through community outreach and K–14 education, we support training and certifications for EV technicians, truck drivers, and logistics workers, furthering the safe and effective transition to clean transportation.

  • Powering the Future: EV Technician Training Programs: As the demand for clean transportation grows, so does the need for a skilled workforce. CREL supports the EV Technician Training Programs at Bakersfield College and Porterville College to equip students with the hands-on skills and certifications needed in the electric vehicle industry.
  • Simulation-Based Training for Clean Logistics Careers: CREL is advancing industry efforts to transition toward clean logistics and sustainable operations by developing supporting hands-on, simulation-based workforce training programs, including a state of the art truck driving simulator coming online.

Electric Vehicle Technician Training at Porterville

Supports the launch of Porterville College’s Electric Vehicle Technology Center by helping fund a dedicated faculty for the program. This support allowed Porterville College to expand hands-on training and career pathways in EV technicians and international training programs to support the clean energy transition: PC and ZeroNox launch ground-breaking program & EV Tech Center

Workforce Development for Electric Commercial Drivers

In partnership with Cerro Coso Community College, CREL is supporting a training program focused on electric commercial driver’s license (CDL) certification, equipping participants with the skills needed to operate electric commercial vehicles and support the clean energy transition.
