The Kern Promise

Bakersfield College Kern Promise

The Kern Transfer Promise is a commitment to help students complete their Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) within two instructional years through structured support and priority access to courses. Upon successful completion of The Kern Promise and an Associate Degree for Transfer, students will be guaranteed junior standing admission at one of the 23 campuses of the California State University system.

The Kern Promise focuses on a shared responsibility model where the student works with a Completion Coaching Team to chart and follow the path to success. As part of the Promise, each student will receive guaranteed priority registration for a full-time schedule and specialized academic and advising support for the next two years. In turn, each Promise student is required to maintain good academic standing and commit to program requirements.

Cerro Coso Community College Kern Promise

The Cerro Coso Kern Promise is our belief that hard-working, dedicated students deserve an education, regardless of financial or personal status. By meeting basic criteria, students will qualify for Cerro Coso Kern Promise scholarships that help with tuition, books, and fees.

The Cerro Coso Kern Promise focuses on five key goals: 1. Increase college attendance directly from high school; 2. Increase college-ready placement in Math and English; 3. Improve Associate's degree and certificate attainment; 4. Improve transfer rates; and 5. Increase Bachelor's degree attainment.
