Accessibility Task Force
The Kern Community College District in 2019 began a review of the processes and programs in place to ensure compliance with federal and state laws providing civil rights protections to all individuals with disabilities.
A district-wide Task Force was created and is composed of 24 members representing all three colleges and the district office and includes faculty, Instructional Technology staff, administrators, staff from the DSPS offices, procurement, and Human Relations. A consultant was hired to conduct a review of the programs and services provided through the colleges and district office. The full report can be found below. A summary document listing suggested “next steps” was also developed to assist and guide the various departments in implementing the recommendations from the consultant’s report.
