OSHA

Serving the Bakersfield area, Kern Community College District offers OSHA compliance training in areas including Cal/OSHA Standards, Train-the-Trainer and Federal Construction Standards.

Core Construction Skills

 

The NCCER Core Construction curriculum is a prerequisite to all other Level 1 craft curriculum. The training program prepares individuals for entry-level positions with utilities and utility contractors. CORE participants are introduced to many levels of training for future employment in the energy sector. Its modules cover topics such as Basic Safety, Communication Skills and Introduction to Construction Drawings.​

Industrial Maintenance Technician

As the construction and ongoing maintenance of industry increases, so do the employment possibilities and the need for educated and well-trained technicians. Topics covered in this curriculum include Introduction to Motor Controls, PLC's, Maintenance and Repair.

Warehousing & Distribution Center Operations, Transportation Operations, Forklift Certification, Logistics Planning & Management Services, Facility and Mobile Equipment Maintenance, Transportation Systems/Infrastructure, Health & Safety, Sales & Service and IT.

NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) has developed a curriculum for entry-level solar PV installation technicians – in support of the North American Board of Energy Practitioners’ (NABCEP’s) educational standards for technicians.
