The Kern Community College District's Purchasing Department, under the Business Services division, handles the procurement of supplies, material, equipment and non-construction services from responsible vendors at the lowest cost or best value. Consistent with the California Public Contract Code, the District solicits Invitations to Bid, Requests for Proposals (RFP), Requests for Qualifications (RFQ), or other formal methods of procurement for contracts exceeding bid limits.
The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit proposals for the Management and Operation of the KCCD Bookstores. KCCD recognizes the traditional college bookstore business is in a transformational period, and it is the intent of KCCD to be on the cutting-edge of campus bookstore services. Therefore, KCCD has initiated this Request for Proposal process and is seeking an innovative and proactive partner to effectively serve the KCCD community. A Bidder's Conference/Site Visits will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 9:00 a.m.(PST) in Levinson Hall 40 on the Bakersfield College campus located at 1801 Panorama Drive, Bakersfield, CA 93305. Contractors should confirm receipt of the RFP and attendance at the Bidder's Conference.
