The Kern Community College District is developing new
ways of keeping the colleges and the community up-to-date on what is occurring
throughout its service area. We will be bringing news to the KCCD website on
the Chancellor’s Office, Business Services, Educational Services, Facilities
and Operations, Human Resources, Legislative Services, Grants and Contracts,
major construction projects and Prop 39, IT, and many other issues of
District-wide interest. This information will appear on our District web site
and will be emailed to every email address holder in the District. We also
provide hard copies for our Board of Trustees as a part of the Chancellor’s
report to the Board. It is our desire to reach everyone and keep them informed.
The News Brief will be published each month throughout
the year. The District will include articles of special interest at various
times such as the Accreditation Site Visits, employee highlights, special
events and other items. If an employee has a question that applies
District-wide and they would like to see information about that question in the
newsletter, the employee should email the question to:
sdyer@kccd.edu.
We will attempt to respond to questions of District-wide concern.
The News Brief will appear on the Kern Community
College District web site so that the information we provide can be shared with
our communities. In a District of 25,000 square miles, it is not always easy to
keep our constituents informed. Everyone has access to our website and we will
use this as a communication tool.
