How to Add a Trusted Site

What is the benefit of adding the Intranet site as a Trusted site?
	The benefit of adding the Intranet site as a Trusted site is that you will not be prompted for a login every time you access the Intranet site. You will only be required to login the first time you visit the Intranet site.

Is there a security risk in adding the Intranet site as a Trusted site?
	When you add the Intranet site as a Trusted site, your computer will save your login so that you do not need to login in the future. This could potentially allow someone to access the Intranet site on your computer without logging in. The only way this can happen is if you leave your machine logged in and unattended. As long as you either lock your machine when you are away from your desk or put a password on your screen saver, there should be no opportunity for anyone to illegally access the Intranet on your computer.

Steps to Add a Trusted Site:
	1.	Open Internet Explorer.
	2.	Select the Tools item in the top menu.
	3.	Select the Internet Options item from the Tools menu.
	4.	Select the Security tab on the Internet Options screen.
	5.	Click the Trusted sites icon (See Diagram 1).
	6.	Click the Sites button (See Diagram 1).
	7.	Enter the address https://intranet.kccd.edu/ into the "Add this Website to the zone" field (See Diagram 2).
	8.	Click the Add button (See Diagram 2).
	9.	Click the OK Button (See Diagram 2).
